This is a difficult shot because the car headlights are much brighter than anything else in the frame. I really like how you captured the effect the city has of turning the night into day. Also, having the skyscraper extend beyond the edge of the border was not lost on me.
:iconmusato:
glad you noticed the skyscraper, for some reason i wanted to do it and it took me forever cause I wasn't thinking straight when i was working on it.

do you mean that its difficult in that it doesnt work for you/you dont like it, and the headlights should be made darker somehow? It wouldn't offend me, i like receiving critiques!
:iconnonweasel:
At first I thought that maybe the headlights were distracting from the image, but I am looking again and they are like a river and definantly a strong element of the image. You might consider darkening them, but only a little bit. This is a beautiful capture.

hehe maybe thats too much saturation for my eyes. but it does achieve a certain effect .. the futuristic kind of effect. the location is definitely a good location to represent the future. neat shot btw.. i think it tends to be a bit tricky to time this
:iconmusato:
think this was like right after i got my tripod; basically i went around and setup 19587392573 minute exposures for a few months. In fact, can't say that i've stopped haha
:iconobscure:
lol !! thats the way!

im not going around with my tripod that much any more ... maybe i should start doing that again. people tend to give me weird looks when they see a tripod around here.

had no tripod on my japan trip .. was considering getting a monopod .. but my bags were already overweight ;p
:iconmusato:
I'm just the opposite; i almost never go out without my whole camera bag, but i think i should get back to just walkin around w/my nikon f2(smaller 35mm camera) instead of 10kg of camera equipment...
:iconobscure:
yea.. i was carrying around my whole camera bag for a while. but it started getting heavier by time. at the moment i just go around light. yea a small camera would do fine sometimes.. in japan i found the 50mm lens (canon) on a 300d the best for long days .. its really light ;)

great job! i love the futuristic feel the photo has!.

This can easily be a shot from AKIRA . Your lucky to be in japan ;)
